PRIOR LEGAL EXPERIENCE: Ms. Watts' past experience includes litigation involving business, contract and property disputes, litigation involving child custody dispute matters, drafting documents associated with marriage dissolution and resolving domestic law issues involving alternative family relationships. During law school Ms. Watts worked for the school's research and writing department assisting new students with learning the basics of legal analysis, research and writing. She also worked with the assistant dean on research involving parenting and adoption issues involving same-sex couples. Prior to law school, Ms. Watts worked as a volunteer for Boulder County Legal Services assisting the pro bono coordinator in issues involving family law, housing and employment disputes.

Ms. Watts has experience with drafting and revising documents involving the operation of tribal housing programs, including admissions and occupancy policies personnel policies, leases, homebuyer deeds and assignments and drug-free workplace polices. She has also worked in the area of business planning and entity formation, including the drafting and filing of business organizational documents such as the articles of organization, EIN applications and operating agreements. Ms. Watts also has experience involving oil and gas and other mineral development on tribal lands including facilitating and participating in negotiations between tribes and private industry, the drafting and review of exploration and development agreements, operating agreements, leases, right-of-ways and surface use and access agreements. Ms. Watts also has experience reviewing, drafting and revising tribal resolutions, ordinances, tribal codes and regulations.
