Mr. Qaqundah joined the firm in 2009

PRIOR LEGAL EXPERIENCE: Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Qaqundah worked as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Chief Justice Mary Mullarkey of the Colorado Supreme Court.  He also served as a Law Clerk to the Native American Rights Fund’s Tribal Supreme Court Project in the Washington, D.C. office, volunteered at the DNA People’s Legal Services, and worked as a Student Attorney in the Washington College of Law’s Disability Rights Law Clinic.

During law school, Mr. Qaqundah co-founded the Washington College of Law Chapter of Native American Law Students and received the Washington College of Law Community Service Award.  He has researched issues regarding tribal sovereignty, tribal regulatory immunity and immunity from suit, rights-of-way through private Indian-owned land, and the Indian law jurisprudence of certain Justices of the United States Supreme Court.  Mr. Qaqundah also has experience drafting governing documents including by-laws, ordinances, and resolutions.
